Edlesborough School Uniform

Edlesborough School encourages pupils to take a pride in their appearance and we would ask all parents to support our school uniform policy. Wearing a school uniform is also about taking a pride in your school and we would like our children to be good ambassadors for the school when they are out and about and within school by looking smart.

School sweatshirts and cardigans with the school logo, white polo shirts with the school logo and school ties are only available from the school office.

Blue School Book Carrier: Price £4.50. Available from the school office

Girls
White long-sleeved/ short sleeved shirt with optional Edlesborough School tie
OR  White open necked blouse or white polo shirt
Grey skirt or grey pinafore dress
Grey school trousers
Royal blue Edlesborough sweatshirt, jumper, or cardigan

Summer option: checked blue gingham dress

Boys
White long – sleeved/short sleeved shirt with optional Edlesborough School tie
OR white polo shirt
Grey shorts or trousers
Royal blue Edlesborough sweatshirt or jumper.

Outdoor Shoes
All children should come to school in black, flat heeled school shoes. (No laces in reception please!)
Plain black trainers are acceptable. Fashion or coloured trainers are not acceptable.

In the winter children may come to school in boots but these should not be worn inside school and children should change into normal black school shoes.

In the summer children may wear blue, black or brown sandals providing these provide adequate support for their feet – backless or strappy sandals are dangerous in a school environment and should not be worn.

Indoor Shoes
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2  require black pumps for indoor wear.
Wet Weather/ Snow: Indoor shoes are optional for Key Stage 2 pupils but are very useful in the wet winter months. Please ensure your child has indoor shoes during snowy weather.

Hair
We ask that all long hair is tied back – this helps to prevent the spread of head lice and is more practical for working.
Please avoid over elaborate hair accessories including ‘headscarf’ type headbands.

Jewellery and nail varnish
Jewellery should not be worn at school, with the exception of watches and stud earings.
If for religious reasons you wish your child to wear any other items please send a letter to that effect.
Make up and nail varnish should not be worn.

PE Kit
All children are expected to change for PE for health and safety reasons and need a separate PE Kit.
Having the correct equipment sets high expectations for the lesson that follows. Increasingly our children are participating in sports festivals where schools take a pride in their sporting appearance and we encourage Edlesborough children to represent their school by having the correct PE kit.

All children:
White polo shirt (Edlesborough logo preferable – this can be purchased from the school office)
Plain navy blue or black shorts
Plain navy blue or black tracksuit bottoms and top (for outdoor / winter wear)

PE Footwear
All children are expected to change their footwear for PE for health and safety reasons.
All indoor PE lessons are done barefoot.
For outdoor PE all children require trainers. Reception children will not require outdoor footwear until the summer term.
Football boots may be worn when appropriate.

Swimming
Children going swimming are required to follow the rules of the pool:
All children must wear a swimming hat
Swimming costumes not bikinis
Swimming shorts or trunks not baggy Burmuda shorts

PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM ARE LABELLED CLEARLY.
