Priscilla Dorrance
I am a parent governor. My son is currently at Edlesborough School and my daughter, who is now at Cottesloe, is a former pupil. Prior to becoming a governor I was a FOES committee member.
I am the co-owner of Brilliant Publications, an independent publishing company based in Edlesborough, which specialises in publishing resource books for teachers. Prior to setting up Brilliant Publications, I worked for several major educational publishing companies including Scholastic Education, Heinemann and Ladybird. Prior to entering publishing I trained as a primary school teacher.
I am currently Chair of Governors and Chair of the Curriculum Committee as well as governor with responsibility for safeguarding.

Warren Newbert
I am a parent governor (since late 2010). I am currently the Chair of the Finance Committee.  I became a governor because I wanted to understand more about the running and direction of the school, and to be able to offer an alternative view.  I am enjoying the experience and time commitment is not unreasonable.
By day I am the Finance Director for Compact Medium Group, a private equity backed company specialising in the management of film and television rights and royalties.
Outside of work and school, I like to spend as much time as possible with my young family, Luke (7) and Ryan (4), and enjoy water skiing and golf.

I am an LEA governor. I am married with 4 children and I live in Eaton Bray. All 4 of my children began their education at Edlesborough School and my 2 youngest currently go to Cottesloe where I am also a parent governor. I have been a childminder for 22 years a job which I thoroughly enjoy and find very rewarding. I have always been involved with the activities of my children from toddler groups to playgroup committees, a warranty leader at Brownies and treasurer at Beavers. I also spent several years as a FOES committee member.
I have lived in the area all my life and have always been involved in village life through my family and my church which included teaching at Sunday school for 6 years. I have also helped run a social group for physically handicapped adults. We are also a host family for the Chernobyl Children’s life line, which help children still suffering from the effects of the Chernobyl disaster.
I am currently the Development Governor at Edlesborough and I organise governor training.

Alex Razak
I am a parent governor. I live in Ivinghoe Aston and have done so for the past 12 years. Up until 2 years ago I had worked for 22 years as a qualified nurse in the NHS at a number of different hospitals, specialising in Accident and Emergency care. For the last 6 years with the NHS I left A&E to co-ordinate a number of projects to improve the quality of patient care, the management of change, and the development of leadership skills. Since leaving the NHS I have studied horticulture with the Royal Horticultural Society and am about to embark on a 2 year Diploma in Garden Design. During this time I have started my own business in garden maintenance and design.
Both of my children attend Edlesborough School, where I have been a parent helper in the past.
I am currently coordinator of the Safer Routes to school working group and lead governor for PSHE, citizenship and Every Child Matters.

I taught undergraduate Marketing Planning and Policy; Brand Management; Post Graduate Marketing on Masters in Education Programme; Organisational Design on MBA Programme. I was also responsible for co-ordinating the Undergraduate Dissertation Programme and also supervised numerous Post Graduate Dissertations. My research interest was in the marketing of schools.

Denise Kaye
I am an LEA governor. I have worked in primary schools for 27 years, nearly seven of those as a headteacher, in Harrow, Dorset and Hertfordshire. When I left I wanted to keep in touch with primary education which I have been able to do by becoming a school governor. I now work part time in adult education in Bucks and am on the Diocesan Board of Education in St Albans.
I became a governor at Edlesborough in October 09. I am chair of the Personnel Committee and am the governor responsible for Early Years and Special Educational Needs.

Lucy Kent
I am a staff governor. I have been teaching for 19 years in a range of schools including first schools, a JMI (junior, middle and infant) school and a middle school. During this time I have held a variety of senior management roles. I have returned to teaching in Edlesborough School, after having a break to raise my 2 children who currently attend Edlesborough School.
I currently lead the Year5/6 teaching team.

  Peter King
I am a parent governor  (From 07/12/10).  I moved to the village just over 4 years ago.  I have one child at the school.
I have for the last 20 years been involved in the computer games industry and I currently am the MD of UK arm of a very large Russian games company. Most of my working life has been involved in the entertainment industries.
Every day I work with the major companies like Google, Apple, Facebook, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo and have a very good understanding of all the issues that these companies products can have in the home.
I’m very keen to get involved with all aspects of being a governor and hope to do my little bit in continuing to support our great little school and community.

  Sharon Stilliard
We moved to the village in 1987 and my four children all attended the school.
I became a parent governor in 1988 but was unable to continue in this role when I was appointed Science teacher at the school in 1989, when the new National Curriculum was introduced.
In 2008 I became the staff governor and on my retirement in 2010 a community governor.
As custodian of the school pond and witness to the many changes on the school premises over the past 20 years.  I am Clerk of the Premises/Health and Safety committee, and a member of the Personnel Committee.

Gurdeep Singh
My name is Gurdeep Singh and I joined the Governing body in February 2011.  I have been a secondary school Maths teacher for over 10 years and am currently a member of the leadership team at a Grammar school in Bucks.  My son joined the school in September 2011 and I thought that becoming a Governor would enable me to become involved in and support the local school and wider community in which he will grow up.

   Marlene Bennett
I am married with two grown up children and one granddaughter.   I have lived in Northall for the past 35 years, and have worked as the School Secretary for 25 years.  When I originally started working at the school I was just a typist, but my job has changed dramatically over the years, and am now responsible for school finances as well as many other aspects of school life.  I have in the past been Treasurer of FOES and was on the committee for several years when my children attended the School.   I represent the ancillary staff on the Governing Body and am Clerk to the Finance Committee and a member of the Personnel and Maketing Committees.
