Early years

Welcome to Early Years at Edlesborough School

Reception class are now halfway through their first year at school and what a time it has been!   Following the excitement of Christmas, they returned to find a full size rocket had landed in their classroom and aliens had invaded.  The first half term was spent trying to track him or her down and even though their visitor kept leaving footprints everywhere it was never to be found.

This half term our topic is the books of Julia Donaldson, and the children are enjoying reading all about The Gruffalo, The World's Smartest Giant, Troll and many more.   We are going to Bekonscot model village to be giants for a day and can't wait for our first trip out together.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

The Early Years Team

Bernadette Freed, Amy Hill, Kelly Duffin.

The children in Stars watched in awe as their duck eggs hatched to produce two new Edlesborough friends. Thanks to the care and attention of Mr Bush over the summer holidays, the ducks remain happy in their new home and have become part of school life. This small selection of photographs plot their journey from duckling to duck.
First day at school for the children in Stars Class
World Book Day - Reception and the whole of Key Stage 1 had fantastic fun on World Book Day. Our theme was The Mr Men and Little Misses by Roger Hargreaves. The children with their family's support made a great effort and the riot of colour made us all feel like Mr Happy all day. We can only show a small selection but all the children entered into the spirit of the day looking just splendid.
